In addition to providing only the highest standards in dental technologies we also offer a range of practice facilities to enhance your dental experience. Whether it’s the in-chair television, DVD or iPod docking facilities, or the full glass feature walls overlooking landscaped gardens and water features, our patients appreciate the relaxing environment we’ve created for them. While we provide DVDs, patients are also welcome to bring their own favourite movies if they like—particularly useful for patients with children. Free parking is also available onsite.

Meet Dr John Gooley

John was born and raised in Brisbane, attending St Joseph’s College Gregory Terrace before studying Dentistry at the University of Queensland. John began in private practice at Upper Mt Gravatt in 1994 and through his commitment and care for his patients has developed an extremely loyal following both locally and nationally”.

John very much enjoys all aspects of dentistry with a particular interest in preventative, restorative and aesthetic dentistry.

John has a keen interest in volunteer dentistry and has spent time in both Kenya and Uganda treating the underprivileged and still enjoys maintaining those contacts with annual visits at Family Dental Excellence from the Watoto Ugandan Orphanage Children’s Choir, when they tour Australia each year.

Married to Jennifer with two children, John enjoys keeping fit through mountain bike riding, surfing, playing tennis, trekking in remote locations, and has recently managed to survive his initiation to snowboarding.

Meet Dr Paula Liu

Paula loves getting to know her patients and their families and is dedicated to creating and maintaining the best dental health for them.

Originally born in Taiwan, she immigrated with her family to Australia over 20 years ago and remains fluent in Mandarin. Growing up as a local, Paula attended MacGregor Primary and MacGregor State High, before completing her high school education at Somerville House

After graduating from Dentistry at University of Sydney, she worked in the Public Health System in Brisbane for a number of years before joining our team at Family Dental Excellence in 2006. While being highly proficient in all aspects of dentistry, Paula has a keen interest in aesthetic, endodontic and surgical dental treatments.

An accomplished violinist, Paula along with her husband Paul, enjoy volunteering their time to be a part of the church band. She also balances her love for food by being a devoted touch football player.
